Have you ever loved someone?

Have you ever loved someone deeply,  the kind of love that makes your insides burn,  makes you feel breathless yet leaves you in a meditative trance?

Have you ever loved someone so deeply, as to make you forget your existence, and think of yourself as a mere extension of your beloved?

Have you ever loved someone so deeply, that you have waited with baited breath and undying hope for days, months or sometimes years, to hear from your beloved -  a letter,  a text message or at times just a plain smile acknowledging you?

Have you ever loved someone so deeply,  that you put your beloved on a pedestal and cannot think of him as anything but a form of the almighty?

Have you ever loved someone so deeply that you have felt a range of emotions and insanity in your heart,  which you never knew existed?

Have you ever loved someone so deeply that you can feel him piercing through your soul, right into your true self, a place where no one else has reached?

Have you loved someone so deeply,  that his name still has the capability to bring a smile to your face, stir your soul and make you feel alive?

Have you loved someone so deeply,  that he makes you believe that you have met in some other lifetime,  perhaps as a beloved,  or a parent-child, or siblings, that the unexplained bond that you share with him goes beyond lifetimes.

If the above words made your heart flutter and made you remember that ‘someone’, then you,  my dear friend,  have known what it means to feel alive!
